I am honored to announce that I have been selected as a Judge for Realtor Magazine's 2009 Good Neighbor Awards. This marks the 10th year that the publication has been awarding Realtors throughout the country who demonstrate a commitment to community outreach from affordable housing, to youth mentoring, to medical research funding, to environmental preservation and community revitalization. I received the applications of 15 finalists yesterday and already feel conflicted in my decision, I simply don't know how I'm going to be able determine the a winner. All of these Realtors work is impressive, how can I possibly judge who is more passionate about their cause or who has the greatest impact in their community? There are five winners who will receive a $10,000 grant for their cause and five honorable mentions that will receive $2500 grants. I don't care how cheesy or cliched this sounds, no matter who ends up placing in the top 5, "everyone wins" and perhaps the biggest "winners" are the members of these communities who benefit from the incredible dedication of these Realtors. If given permission by Realtor Magazine, I'd like to post some of the profiles of the finalists.
